Considering the shared challenges local authorities face in the evolving world of traffic order making, AppyWay’s London Council Workshop was a wonderful way to brainstorm ideas and meet new people from the traffic order industry; greater liaison between local authorities should be considered a must going forward.

It was interesting to hear how others in the industry work, and how we might find a way forward to engage with the public more effectively.

On Wednesday 29th June we hosted 5 London Councils at the AppyWay offices for an afternoon of discussion and knowledge sharing, and of course some delicious pastries and sweet treats. The theme of the afternoon was “Tackling Traffic Orders” – a look at what the future of digital traffic orders holds and the barriers and challenges councils face to adoption.

The group comprised of Harrow, Hounslow, Islington, Lambeth and Southwark Councils, heard from Marc Theophilus, Parking and Enforcement Service Development Officer at Lambeth, who discussed the benefits and efficiencies the council have experienced since moving to map-based, digital traffic orders.

AppyWay then led the group in a workshop on digital traffic orders which resulted in a lively discussion and a whiteboard packed with ideas.

Watch the video and check out the pictures for all the highlights of this excellent afternoon.
