Phew! It’s been a busy 10 days here at AppyWay. We’re still very much riding the high that was Parkex & Traffex 2022 and thought we’d jump on here to recap what was undoubtedly an excellent event.

As our first large scale event since Covid-19 it’s fair to say that the team were chomping at the bit to mingle with the delegates and demo our innovative traffic order management solution, Traffic Suite. With our bright yellow stand all set up and our very funny traffic order posters plastered all around the loos, we were ready for 3 days of all things traffic order management!

Day 1 and the opening of Parkex & Traffex 2022 by Transport Minister Baroness Vere who gave the keynote address. The Baroness’ keynote focussed on the “once in a generation” opportunity for new enhanced partnerships at local levels and offered a special mention to the challenges facing the parking sector as the Government looks towards more sustainable solutions. With these points in mind, the team knew traffic order management was going to be a hot topic for delegates passing the AppyWay stand.

The conversations flowed, the stand got increasingly busy and by day 2 our GovTech Solutions Lead Sara Smart, Customer Success Manager Mike Potter, and Senior Product Manager Sophie Mould were conducting back-to-back demonstrations of the suite for local authority traffic order teams up and down the country. The focus for these authorities… digitsing their traffic orders, unlocking efficiencies, and activating decarbonisation efforts through end-to-end kerbside management.

Day 3 and the demos kept coming! At one point the stand looked less like an exhibition and more like an auditorium. It’s been noted that we will need more chairs next year for people joining the Traffic Suite demonstrations. Appy’s Mike was kind enough to share his thoughts and recap the previous day’s demos…

Throughout day 3 the stand was also visited by the judges of the Parkex Innovation Trail, making their final rounds before the award ceremony. The team were able to show off our innovative suite, highlighting the benefits of digitally managing traffic orders, and via our app showcase the power of putting open, shareable, traffic order data into the hands of drivers.

Come midday it was time to announce the winner of the Innovation Trail. The AppyWay Traffic Suite was up against some stiff competition but we’re thrilled to say that after the judges deliberation, we took out the top spot! What an incredible end to an excellent 3 days!! You can read more on this win in our next blog…

We’re still basking in that post-event, post-award win glow and the coming weeks are packed with follow up conversations and demonstrations. Digital traffic orders are having their moment and from our conversations councils across the country are ready to make the move.
